2022 Best 22 – Fremantle Dockers

  • Avatar photo

With some talented youngsters and a couple of handy new arrivals, the Fremantle Dockers are building a very nice squad that will start to challenge for a finals spot sooner than some may think.

Fremantle Dockers Best 22

Over the last few years the Dockers haven’t had much luck getting their key defenders on the park at the same time. Joel Hamling, Alex Pearce and Griffin Logue are the three best key defenders in the Dockers squad in my eyes, while Luke Ryan can play big or small. Hayden Young looks set for a breakout year, after finishing 2021 off like a house on fire after missing the majority of the year through injury. I think Jordan Clark is a great acquisition by the Dockers and should get his chance off the half back flank.

Darcy Tucker is flying this preseason and should lock down a spot on the wing, opposite the consistent James Aish

Michael Walters will look to bounce back after a poor 2021 and Liam Henry is tracking nicely for the other forward flank spot.

I think the Dockers will roll with the three prong tall forward line consisting of Rory Lobb, Matt Taberner and Josh Treacy, while Lachie Schultz and Sam Switkowsi will roam the forward line as dangerous small forwards.

I expect Caleb Serong and Andy Brayshaw to take over the reigns of the midfield from Nat Fyfe and David Mundy, while Will Brodie should get every chance to add his name to that midfield rotation as well.

Heath Chapman is a talented youngster and edges out Nathan O’Driscoll and Blake Acres for the final spot, while a big watch will be on early draft pick Neil Erasmus who should debut this year.
