2022 Best 22 – Melbourne Demons

  • Avatar photo

With almost the perfect mix of youth and experience, the Demons will be determined to make it back to back flags this season and there is absolutely no reason why they can’t!

Melbourne Demons Best 22

I’m going to keep this one pretty simple. Not much is changing from the Premiership winning side of 2021. There are basically no chinks in the Dees armour.

James Jordan was sub in the Grand Final and probably sits in that same position again, just outside the Best 22 at the moment.

Luke Dunstan leaves a club with a stack of midfielders and arrives at a club with stack of midfielders. I see him only as emergency cover for Jack Viney and not a real threat to the young up and comers like Tom Sparrow and James Jordan.

A fit Adam Tomlinson will be around the mark for a spot and could push someone like Michael Hibberd or Harrison Petty out of a spot.

It could be another long year for Sam Weideman in the VFL unless Ben Brown or Tom McDonald have some injury issues. Jacob Van Rooyen looks a talented draftee but will be given every opportunity to develop his craft in the VFL
