CBAs Analysis: Round 2, 2025- AFL Fantasy

See who the winners and losers were in the CBAs over the weekend.

In AFL Fantasy, Centre Bounce Attendances (CBAs) are one of the most valuable indicators of a player’s role and scoring potential. Each week, changes in CBAs can signal role shifts, coaching adjustments, or evolving team strategies—all of which are crucial for fantasy coaches looking to stay ahead of the game. Each week, I’ll be selecting five key players whose midfield involvement is worth highlighting. For a more detailed breakdown of all the biggest movers, members can access our CBA analysis data tools here.

Clay Hall

Clay Hall returned to the West Coast lineup for the first time since Round 24 last season and was immediately thrown back into the midfield mix. He attended 55% of West Coast’s centre bounces, which was a 48% jump compared to his previous games. While he only managed 49 AFL Fantasy points, it’s a promising sign for the future—especially considering the high expectations placed on him during his draft year.

Luke Jackson

Luke Jackson was used as the number one ruck for Fremantle over the weekend, with Liam Reidy dropped. This led to a significant uptick in opportunity, attending an additional 26% of centre bounces. He capitalised on the role, scoring 104 AFL Fantasy points. Reidy was best on ground for Peel Thunder and may be recalled soon, but while Jackson holds the number one ruck mantle—and with forward status—he remains a valuable fantasy option.

Marcus Windhager

Marcus Windhager saw a 55% jump in his centre bounce attendances as he was deployed in a tagging role against Geelong on Saturday night. He attended 26% of centre bounces and delivered an impressive 113 AFL Fantasy points. In a post-game interview, he mentioned focusing more on winning the footy rather than purely tagging. If this balance continues, it could signal a boost in his scoring output.

Nathan O’Driscoll

Nathan O’Driscoll was one of the biggest CBA fallers this week, losing his inside time to returning teammates Jaeger O’Meara and Shai Bolton. O’Meara was used as a tagger but still managed a decent score himself. While O’Driscoll was pushed into an outside role, it was encouraging to see him still score reasonably well. He’s a classy player, and even if he doesn’t secure a long-term inside role, he could still be serviceable for fantasy owners as a winger.

Harry Perryman

Harry Perryman is now a major concern for fantasy coaches. After a preseason that promised an inside midfield role, he failed to attend a single centre bounce over the weekend. Instead, Collingwood opted to use him in defence, and it showed in his scoring—just 43 AFL Fantasy points. While he might still offer decent value as a defender, it’s a far cry from the upside he appeared to have heading into the season.
