CBAs Analysis: Round 9, 2025- AFL Fantasy

See who the winners and losers were in the CBAs over the weekend.

In AFL Fantasy, Centre Bounce Attendances (CBAs) are one of the most valuable indicators of a player’s role and scoring potential. Each week, changes in CBAs can signal role shifts, coaching adjustments, or evolving team strategies—all of which are crucial for fantasy coaches looking to stay ahead of the game. Each week, I’ll be selecting five key players whose midfield involvement is worth highlighting. For a more detailed breakdown of all the biggest movers, members can access our CBA analysis data tools here.

Miles Bergman

Bergman was thrown into the midfield and tasked with a role on Jordan Dawson. Not only did he tag him effectively, but he also found plenty of the football himself, finishing with 112 points. In recent weeks, we’ve seen a dip in Bergman’s scoring as Connor Rozee has moved into defence. If Bergman continues to play through the midfield in an accountable role and picks up possessions along the way, he could be a valuable defender for draft and keeper league teams.

Jack Crisp

Crisp saw a noticeable bump in CBAs on the weekend, largely due to Scott Pendlebury being rested and Steele Sidebottom getting subbed out early. He stepped into the midfield and produced a solid score. That said, Crisp is expected to return to his usual wing role once the other veterans return. Still, it’s encouraging to know he can step up when needed and score well in the process.

Toby Greene

After a few lean weeks, GWS gave Greene a run through the midfield—and he started like a house on fire. While he faded late, his score was a clear improvement from recent rounds. With the Giants pulling off a win in Geelong, there’s a chance they stick with this structure, and we see a modest scoring boost from Greene moving forward. However, GWS are set to regain Josh Kelly and Stephen Coniglio in the coming weeks.

Corey Wagner

Wagner was given a tagging role on Nick Daicos this week and did a solid job, restricting him to just 67 points. He’s been doing more accountable jobs in recent weeks, but this was the first time he was sent to an elite midfielder. While Wagner isn’t likely to regularly score highly himself, there may be weeks where he racks up tackles and scraps together a decent score by following the opposition’s best midfielders around.

Zach Merrett

To avoid a tag on the weekend, Merrett spent more time playing forward—and it worked, with Essendon getting the win and Merrett slotting a couple of goals. However, his fantasy output took a hit. While this forward shift isn’t expected to be a weekly thing, if opposition teams keep tagging him, we might see him play forward more often and potentially get forward status down the track. Don’t count on it though.
