Gold Coast Suns – AFL Fantasy Analysis 2025

As the 2025 AFL season approaches, the Gold Coast Suns will be looking to push for their first finals berth. With a strong list that balances experienced fantasy stars and promising young talent, the Suns are in a great position to make significant strides this year. Let’s dive into the undervalued players, breakout candidates, stash options, and rookies to watch for your draft and keeper league teams.

Undervalued Players

John Noble

After being traded from Collingwood, John Noble is set to fill a half-back role at the Suns in 2025. Noble averaged 81 in 2023 before falling out of favour at the Magpies and missing the finals series. With Damien Hardwick’s history of enabling half-backs to score well, Noble should comfortably average 80+ this season and provide consistent value.

Bodhi Uwland

While not a player with superstar potential, Bodhi Uwland’s defensive role allows him to collect marks and post decent scores. In 2024, he recorded five scores over 70, including a career-high 124. Uwland offers a solid floor and can serve as reliable bench cover for your team.

Breakout Candidates

Sam Clohesy

A mature-age recruit last season, Sam Clohesy impressed with some strong performances. Although playing on the wing isn’t ideal for fantasy scoring, Clohesy has the potential to become one of the better fantasy wingmen in the coming years.

Ned Moyle

Ned Moyle proved last season that he’s more than just a backup ruckman. Averaging 77.6 points overall, his solo ruck performances without Jarrod Witts saw him post an impressive 84.3 points per game, compared to just 31 points when sharing duties with Witts. With Witts nearing the end of his career and being one injury away from retirement, Moyle could assume the number one ruck mantle sooner rather than later.

Bailey Humphrey

Bailey Humphrey faces competition in Gold Coast’s deep midfield, which has kept him in a midfield-forward role. However, natural progression could see him break into the midfield rotation or dominate more as a forward. With his ability to score goals, tackle inside 50, and pinch-hit in clearances, Humphrey is a prime breakout candidate for 2025.

Stash Options

Jake Rogers

Jake Rogers boasts impressive underage fantasy scores, averaging 95.8 in the Talent League and 84 in the Under-18 Championships during his draft year. Although he’s currently been playing forward due to the Suns’ midfield depth, Rogers has the potential to replace Touk Miller in the long term. While it may take time, his future fantasy prospects are worth keeping an eye on.

Ethan Read

Ethan Read also posted strong underage numbers but faces a less clear path to elite scoring. Initially viewed as a potential future number one ruck for Gold Coast, it now appears Ned Moyle has claimed that role. Read is likely to play forward and pinch-hit in the ruck, a role that traditionally doesn’t yield high fantasy scores. Nevertheless, he could become serviceable down the line.

Rookie Watch

Leo Lombard

Leo Lombard was a standout in the Under-18 Championships, averaging 93.2, and gained experience playing senior footy for Gold Coast last year. For more details on Lombard and other rookies, check out our draftee analysis guide or listen to our draftee bonus podcast for members.
