Round 23, 2024: Captains and Streamers – AFL Fantasy

Each week, we rely on our AFL Fantasy Projections (available to members of The Keeper League) to identify some of the best captain options for your team.

While there are always some obvious captain options, we try to dig a little deeper to find less popular options due to the widespread nature of players in keeper leagues. However, if you have Uber premium players, please don’t take this article as advice not to put the captaincy on them.

In addition to the top captain options, we’ll also look at some streamer options who may not be automatic selections in your side but have a history of performing well against their opponents. These options are worth considering if you’re looking for a differential advantage in your matchup.

Captains

Jack Sinclair is averaging 117 AFL Fantasy Points from his last three games and 108 from his last five. This is a rich vein of form, and he should pig it up at Marvel.

I like the look of Captain Connor Rozee this week against the Adelaide Crows. He is averaging 104 AFL Fantasy Points from his last five and will have a Showdown Point to prove.

Jordan Dawson is the next big man that I am backing to have a big Showdown. Dawson has averaged 105 AFL Fantasy Points from his last five and scored 126 in his last game at Adelaide Oval.

Patrick Cripps once again makes my article this week, simply put he needs to go big against West Coast for Carlton to win. He pumped out 116 AFL Fantasy Points the last time these teams met.

Tim Taranto is flying under the radar at the moment with his average being injury affected. Taranto scored 127 AFL Fantasy Points last time he met Hawthorn and is averaging 122 in his last three against them.

Vice-Captain

Noah Anderson is having a career best season and loves playing at home, where he has averaged 112 AFL Fantasy Points from his last three games.

Chad Warner scored 108 AFL Fantasy Points the last time he played Essendon and is averaging 101 from his last three against them.

Essendon’s Ruck’s are unsettled, and I expect Brodie Grundy to capitalise around the ground. He has averaged 92 AFL Fantasy Points from his last three against them and is a great Friday VC option.

Jordan Clark has been excellent sins joining Fremantle and is in All Australian form. He is coming off 126 AFL Fantasy Points and has averaged 103 from his last three.

Tom Green has been remarkably consistent this season and I think he is due a big score! He is averaging 106 AFL Fantasy Points from his last five.

Streamers

With Harry Sheezel out this week I am looking to field Zac Fisher; He is named on the half forward line, but I think he settles into the half back line where he’s averaging over 80 AFL Fantasy Points.

Andrew Gaff is the next up on the Retirment band wagon, he plays at home on the Optus Stadium wing. He has the added benefit of coming up against a very broken-down Carlton.

I like the look of Jack Scrimshaw this week against Richmond; the Tigers lack any genuine forward target, and Scrimshaw takes a sprinkle of kick-ins.

Jack Bowes has averaged 83 AFL Fantasy Points from his last three games against St Kilda; Tanner Bruhn’s injury opens up a plumb role.

A mountain of injuries to Melbourne’s midfield may see Judd McVee have an increase in his Centre Bounce Attendance. With the early game I like the look of him as a loop option.
