State League AFL Fantasy Scores – Week 1, 2025

We’re back with another weekly wrap from the state leagues, with a keen eye on those putting up big fantasy scores and pressing for AFL selection. The SANFL and WAFL kick off next week, but the VFL gave us plenty of insight this week.

James Tunstill was dominant in Brisbane’s 25-point win over Port Melbourne, collecting 29 disposals, 6 tackles, 8 clearances, and 2 goals on his way to a monster 142 fantasy points. Darcy Fort wasn’t far behind with 18 disposals, 8 clearances, 38 hitouts and 101 points. Mid-season draftee Darcy Craven scored 82 points, and Academy graduate and 2024 draftee Sam Marshall had 87 from 22 disposals.

Jaxon Binns picked up 21 touches and 91 fantasy points. With Lucas Camporeale subbed out of the AFL game, Binns is a genuine chance to come into Carlton’s best 22 this week. Veteran Jordan Boyd scored 85 from 23 disposals, while Will Hayes produced 112 from 15 disposals and a goal. Rookie Will White had 85 from 17 disposals and 9 marks.

Ed Allan responded to his AFL omission with a huge 31-disposal, 7-clearance, 1-goal game worth 100 points. Jakob Ryan racked it up in an outside role and tallied 87 from 20 disposals and 9 marks.

Kayle Gerreyn booted 3 goals playing as a key forward and added 12 touches for 76 fantasy points. Lewis Hayes was a standout in defence, gathering 27 disposals and 16 marks for 132 points. Todd Goldstein had 31 hitouts in his return and scored 80.

Veteran Mitch Duncan staked his claim for a senior return with 24 disposals and 96 points. George Stevens had 26 touches and 91 points, while Patrick Retschko kicked a goal in his 87-point outing. Shaun Mannagh also returned in this game, playing VFL due to a limited pre-season from injury. We could see him return to the senior side soon.

Luke Breust booted 3 goals and scored 90. Henry Hustwaite had 30 disposals, 11 clearances, and finished with 84 fantasy points. Defender Seamus Mitchell added 83 from 20 touches, while Max Ramsden scored 84 and Cody Anderson who had 72 points was also effective.

Harvey Langford racked up 22 disposals, 5 clearances, 1.2 and scored 91 points in his first VFL appearance. Tom Campbell scored 111 with 28 hitouts and a goal while Tom Fullarton chipped in and scored 87 points.

Zac Fisher led all comers with a huge 40-disposal game worth 124 points. If North Melbourne feels that Finn O’Sullivan isn’t offering enough or decides to shuffle Darcy Tucker out of the half-back line, Fisher could be the one to come in. If selected, he’s the type who could score well at AFL level. Matt Whitlock also impressed, scoring 81 points.

Tyler Sonsie responded from being dropped with 34 touches, 10 clearances and a goal for 101 points. Kane McAuliffe also impressed, finishing with 29 disposals and 114 points. Samson Ryan booted 3 goals for 71.

Tobie Travaglia stood out with 22 disposals, 9 tackles and a goal for 108. Arie Schoenmaker had a massive 32-disposal game for 110, while Jack Carroll posted a 23-disposal, 10-tackle, 10-clearance game for 108.

Caiden Cleary returned from suspension with 37 disposals and 8 clearances for 118 points. Ben Paton had 31 disposals and scored 96, while Aaron Francis scored 105.

Bulldogs father-son forward Jordan Croft slotted 4 goals scoring 73 points. Ruck Lachlan Smith was dominant with 42 hitouts and 113 fantasy points.

Stay tuned as the SANFL and WAFL get underway next weekend. Fantasy coaches should be keeping a close eye on these performances for potential mid-season upgrades and dynasty gold.
