State League AFL Fantasy Scores – Week 2, 2025

The VFL and SANFL are up and running, while WAFL starts next week. Here’s a look at who caught the eye through a fantasy lens, with a number of players pressing for senior selection and keeper league relevance.

SANFL

Luke Nankervis (127) had a dominant game off half-back for Adelaide, racking up 28 touches, 11 marks, and 2 goals. He deserves a call-up based on his pre-season and SANFL form, but it may be hard to break into the Crows’ red-hot senior side at the moment.

Also for the Crows, Harry Schoenberg (100) and Sam Berry (102) continued their strong pre-season form. Schoenberg had 28 and a goal, while Berry combined tackles and scoreboard impact.

Lachlan Murphy (117) also found plenty of it and could come in as a like-for-like replacement for Josh Rachele. Zac Taylor (91) and Charlie Edwards (85) were also solid contributors.

Lachlan McAndrew (91) continues to provide value in the ruck, with 37 hitouts, but is unlikely to come in at AFL level as he’s purely a backup for Reilly O’Brien.

Rory Atkins (77), playing for Port Adelaide in the SANFL, found plenty of it in a 64-point loss. He’s one to monitor if Port make changes at selection.

Jeremy Finlayson (70) and Dylan Williams (72) were both involved, but Port struggled overall.

VFL

Daniel Turner (140) put his hand up for Melbourne selection, clunking 14 marks and booting 5 goals in Casey’s narrow win. Teammate Bailey Laurie (133) also impressed with 32 touches and 10 tackles.

Charlie Lazzaro (128) showed his tackling prowess for North with 14 tackles, and Henry Hustwaite (126) put together another fantasy-friendly stat line, though he’s unlikely to get a gig given the Hawks are undefeated and flying.

In the ruck, Todd Goldstein (112) reminded us he still has gas in the tank with 25 disposals, 45 hitouts and 7 clearances.

Shaun Mannagh (114) booted 3 goals to go with 22 touches and 6 clearances for Geelong. I’d be shocked if he doesn’t come into the Cats’ AFL side this week.

Xavier O’Neill (109) was busy through the middle for Essendon, racking up 28 disposals.

Will Setterfield (103) also scored well for the Bombers playing in the midfield.

Kane McAuliffe (107) led the way for Richmond, continuing his good start to the season in the VFL.

Other notables:

  • Max Knobel (80) – kicked 3 goals in addition to 13 hitouts for Gold Coast.

  • Rhys Stanley (108) – strong outing in the ruck for Geelong.

  • Taj Woewodin (81) and Tom Fullarton (86) among other Melbourne-listed contributors.

Stay tuned as the WAFL gets underway next weekend. Fantasy coaches should be keeping a close eye on these performances for potential mid-season upgrades and dynasty gold.
