State League AFL Fantasy Scores – Week 3, 2025

Each week, we track the standout AFL Fantasy scorers in the state leagues to identify potential cash cows, role changes, and possible inclusions. With a state league bye across the VFL and SANFL this weekend, all eyes were on the WAFL. There were some big scores and intriguing role developments, especially where injuries or poor form could open the door for changes at AFL level.

WAFL

Matt Flynn continued his strong run of form at WAFL level, making another strong case for senior selection at West Coast. The big man dominated the ruck with 48 hitouts, while also gathering 20 disposals, taking 8 marks, and hitting the scoreboard with a goal. It’s the second week in a row he’s put up impressive fantasy numbers, this time finishing with 123 points. With Bailey Williams not exactly locking down the ruck spot, Flynn looks like ready to replace him if the Eagles want to shake things up.

It was also good to see Lucca Grego back it up with another decent performance, finishing with 81 fantasy points. He had 23 touches, laid five tackles, and looked busy all game. Grego had a bit of pre-season hype and was mentioned a fair bit as a breakout candidate, so it’s encouraging to see him delivering at state level. He’s still raw, but definitely someone to keep an eye on in keeper leagues.

Neil Erasmus also put in another standout performance for Peel, scoring 116 points from 28 disposals, 6 marks and 7 tackles. The forward-midfielder is doing everything right at WAFL level and wouldn’t look out of place in Fremantle’s senior side, but with the Dockers winning three on the trot, it might be hard for him to force his way in for now. That said, he’s clearly next in line should someone in their forward line go down.

Liam Reidy was again dominant in the ruck, amassing 45 hitouts along with 11 disposals and 4 tackles for a score of 88. With Luke Jackson sidelined and Sean Darcy only just returning from injury, Reidy looks like a logical next man up if Darcy needs a rest in a week or two.

Quinton Narkle had a big fantasy outing as well, finishing with 115 points from 31 disposals and 9 marks, but at this stage it’s hard to see him ever being relevant again at AFL level.

Fantasy coaches should be keeping a close eye on state league performances for potential mid-season pick ups and dynasty gold.
