Some future stars shone this weekend in the State Leagues as players compete for AFL debuts and recalls.

Top Performers:

Nick Madden (131): Dominating the ruck for the Giants, Madden tallied 30 hitouts and contributed on the scoreboard, showcasing he might be a name to blackbook for the future.

Rory Atkins (129): Continuing his stellar form, Atkins amassed 35 disposals and 12 marks for the Suns and continues to put pressure on for an AFL recall.

Josh Ward (126): Regaining confidence at the VFL level, Ward impressed with 27 disposals and 2 goals, showing his best position is in the midfield.

Angus Sheldrick (120): A strong Swans midfield is the only thing keeping Sheldrick out of the AFL side as he amassed 30 disposals and 5 clearances.

Mitch Hardie (118): Continuing his impressive start to the VFL season, Hardie accumulated 32 disposals for the Cats.

Joel Jeffrey (115): Putting in his best performance of the season, Jeffrey showcased his skills with 29 disposals across half-back.

Francis Evans (115): Kicking two goals to go with his 20 touches and 8 tackles, Evans made a significant impact on the game.

Braydon Preuss (110): Reminding everyone of his capabilities, Preuss dominated with 39 hitouts and made an impact on the scoreboard.

Nick Haynes (106): Patrolling across half-back for the Giants, Haynes collected 26 touches and 11 marks.

Jaxon Binns (102): Having another good game with 27 touches, Binns could be a great replacement for Zac Williams and will be available on a lot of waiver wires.

Billy Dowling (100): Making a strong case for AFL selection, Dowling led the charge with a game-high 27 disposals and a goal against Glenelg.

Luke Pedlar (91): Amongst the action in the midfield for the Crows, Pedlar contributed with 20 disposals.

Finn Macrae (98): Continues to play some good VFL footy with 25 touches, Macrae’s consistent performances could see him earn an AFL call-up in the near future.

Round 7 Watchlist:

Billy Dowling: Surely the Crows coaching staff cannot deny Dowling an AFL debut next week after a game-high 27 touches and a goal against Glenelg? They need to try something and Dowling’s form is too strong to ignore now.

Luke Pedlar: Despite Matt Crouch returning, Pedlar could assist in the midfield for the Crows, after 20 disposals on the weekend.

Rory Atkins: Continuing his stellar form, Atkins would have to close to an AFL recall after the Suns bad loss on Sunday.

Jaxon Binns: Having another good game with 27 touches, Binns could be a great replacement for Zac Williams if he misses this week.
