State League AFL Fantasy Scores – Week 6, 2024

It was a weekend for exciting young ruckmen and midfielders who responded after being omitted. There were also a couple promising stash options who caught my eye for the future!

Top Performers:

Nicholas Madden (166): Putting up another monster score, Madden had 31 disposals, 8 tackles, 33 hitouts, and 14 clearances for the Giants, firmly placing himself in the spotlight for keeper coaches.

Josh Fahey (161): Continuing his excellent VFL form, Fahey impressed with 39 disposals and 5 tackles, and looks to be the next in line for the Giants if injuries hit the team.

Nick Haynes (148): Continuing his strong performances, Haynes amassed 36 disposals and 17 marks across half-back.

Adam Tomlinson (145): Dominating across half-back, Tomlinson had the ball on a string with 38 disposals and 15 marks.

Alex Sexton (126): Returning to his Fantasy-friendly ways, Sexton impressed with 33 disposals and 12 marks across half-back for the Suns.

Curtis Taylor (126): Putting his hand up for selection for the hapless Roos, Taylor showcased his skills with 25 disposals, 14 marks, and a goal.

Luke Parker (125): The Sydney superstar was everywhere in his return from a broken arm winning 34 disposals and looks ready to go next week at AFL level.

Elijah Tsatas (123): Responding emphatically to his omission from the AFL side, Tsatas showcased his talent with a standout 40 disposal performance.

Bruce Reville (116): the Lions rookie impressed with 25 disposals and 10 marks and now moves onto my watchlist.

Tyler Sonsie (115): Making a strong case for an AFL recall, Sonsie did everything right with 32 disposals, 10 clearances, and a goal, showcasing his readiness for a return to the top level.

Ben Long (114): Making his presence felt up forward, Long kicked three goals from seven scoring shots and collected 19 disposals, demonstrating his scoring prowess.

Dan Curtin (113): Leading the charge for the Crows with a team-high disposal count of 31 and a goal, Curtin’s performance is sure to create chatter among fans and talkback show hosts.

Toby Conway (110): Showing glimpses of his future stardom, Conway had a standout performance against the Blues with 20 disposals, 28 hitouts, and 3 goals.

Brandon Ellis (110): Striving to return to the AFL side, Ellis contributed with 23 disposals and a goal.

Jarryd Lyons (106): Displaying his consistency, Lyons had a stock-standard game with 24 disposals and a goal for the Lions.

Harry Schoenberg (103): Returning from an Achilles injury, Schoenberg had a stellar game with 23 touches and 8 tackles, showcasing his impact in the midfield.

Jack Hayes (102): Emerging as a key presence up forward for the Saints, Hayes’ booted 3 goals and could be an option this week in the AFL.

Round 7 Watchlist:

Luke Parker: Looks a certainty to return to the AFL next week from a broken arm. He was way too good for VFL level and the Swans will happily welcome him back into their side.

Toby Conway: Conway could be the most promising and exciting big man in the VFL. I expect him to play a lot of AFL footy this year and next year take over as the number ruck at the Cats.

Dan Curtin: I can see Twitter, Talk Back Radio and Big Footy going nuts this week after Curtin was finally unleashed in the SANFL. Is he ready for an AFL debut? We will see…

Elijah Tsatas: A surprise axing this week for the high draft pick, Tsatas was an absolute stud in the midfield for the Dons and probably deserves another crack at the AFL.

Fin Macrae: Macrae keeps knocking on the door for an AFL game after an average start to the year. Can he replicate his VFL efforts in the big leagues is the real question.

Curtis Taylor: The Roos are rubbish at the moment and Taylor’s game on the weekend shows he’s probably done enough to earn an AFL recall.

Jack Hayes: The Saints need to do something to break a run of losses and Hayes could provide a different target up forward for the struggling side.

No excitement for the glorious 22 disposal (72 point) return of Paddy, the superior Dow?
