State League Fantasy Scores – Week 1, 2022

  • Avatar photo

State League footy returned on the weekend in the form of the VFL, with the SANFL and WAFL to follow in the upcoming weeks. There were some mammoth scores across the weekend in the Reserves and I’ll have a look at some of the names that should be on your radar from a Fantasy perspective.

I don’t think he’ll get a look in the Swans side unless there is a lot of outs but a big tip of the cap to Lewis Taylor who picked up a weekend high of 172 points. 38 touches and 20 marks is ridiculous going!

In the same game, young Bulldog, Robbie McComb had 36 touches and a goal for 151 points, while Swans recruit Peter Ladhams tonned up with 109 points. Rookie Matty Roberts had a strong VFL debut with 25 touches and 96 points.

Jack Newnes put his hand up for Blues selection with 30 touches and 1 goal for 131 points, as did Lion Ryan Lester who had 28 touches and 109 points.

It was good to see Connor Budarick back in the VFL after his ACL last year. The talented Sun had 22 disposals in a 97 point outing. His teammate Elijah Hollands had 19 touches and 79 points. Will Day also returned from injury for Box Hill and picked up 21 touches and a goal for 89 points.

Mitch Brown had a day out against Sandringham kicking 7 goals for 155 points while ball magnet Luke Dunstan collected 26 touches on his way to 116 points. In the same game, Paddy Ryder returned from injury and won 26 hit outs in his 83 point game.

After a bad loss on the weekend, you’d think GWS would be mad not to recall Braydon Preuss who had 41 hit outs and picked up 21 touches and a goal for 123 points. His young teammate Finn Callaghan also put his hand up for selection, finding the footy 35 times on his way to 120 points.
