State League Fantasy Scores: Week 11

  • Avatar photo

Each week, we will bring you the top AFL listed performers from the SANFL, VFL and WAFL so you can see how players in your draft and keeper league teams are tracking.

This information will help you find the better fantasy scorers at the reserves level, and also judge if players are in line for a call up soon so you can grab them off the waiver wire.

Here are the top performers from each state league from the matches played over the weekend.

Note: Only two VFL matches were played this weekend due to the COVID-19 lockdown.

VFL

It’s been a crazy kind of year for Jake Riccardi (170) who has been in and out of the AFL side. He’s shown he can play both down back and up front and it was in the forward line he starred in on Saturday. Riccardi kicked 8.4 and had 24 touches and 14 marks in a dominant display for the Giants. Ruckman Kieran Briggs (136) showed that he is developing nicely with 23 touches and 28 hitouts and he also snuck forward for a goal. 2020 draftee Tanner Bruhn (108) had his best game of his young career with 24 touches and 2 goals, while Phil Davis (87) returned to footy with 18 touches and 10 marks down back.

The Swans-Suns game was a veritable who’s who of Keeper League Pod favourites. VFL Pig Brayden Fiorini (151) had a lazy 45 touches and kicked a goal in a dominant midfield display. He did however only lay one tackle which probably won’t impress coach Stuart Dew. AFL experienced players Darcy McPherson (109), Ben Ainsworth (103) and Jeremy Sharp (96) all had over 20 touches while McPherson and Ainsworth both kicked three goals. New recruit Rory Atkins (82) had 24 touches but you feel he’ll have to do a bit more than that to get back into the AFL side.

Dylan Stephens (118) proved he’s way too good for VFL footy finding the footy 31 times, while Ryan Clarke (115) continued his great form with 31 disposals and 9 clearances. Callum Sinclair (110) was dominant once again in the ruck with 36 hitouts, 20 touches and a goal. Hayden McLean (92) kicked four goals. Nick Blakey (83) had 20 touches while big question marks continue to follow Will Gould (52) who could only manage 12 disposals.

SANFL

On a tough day for the Port Magpies side, Jarrod Lienert (90) was the leading possession winner for the Magpies with 26 touches. He had the perfect K:H ratio with 23 kicks and 3 handballs and also had 14 rebound 50’s. Another week, another dominant display from Sam Hayes (88) in the ruck with 32 hitouts. Son of a gun Taj Schofield (82) was very solid collecting 23 touches while speedster Martin Frederick (77) had 17 touches and a goal. Hamish Hartlett (60) once again couldn’t dominate in the SANFL only finding 11 touches.

Another week, another big score from Jackson Hately (136) in the SANFL. With 31 disposals, 8 tackles, 7 clearances and a goal, Hatley was a standout in his side’s win over Sturt. He’s got to be close to an AFL recall. Keiran Strachan (128) continued his great form with 37 hitouts and 18 disposals. Youngster James Borlase (79) provided the pressure around the ground with 7 tackles and 16 touches while mid season recruit, Patrick Parnell (67) had 15 touches in his first game for the Crows.

WAFL

Youngster Luke Valente (109) hit some form for Peel Thunder finding 26 touches against Claremont. He was his side’s leading possession winner and also laid 5 tackles in the midfield. Lloyd Meek (100) was good again in the ruck with 37 hitouts and 17 touches. Despite his great form, it’s going to be mighty hard to get a spot in the AFL side with the touch Sean Darcy is in. Defender Tobe Watson (64) had 16 touches and 6 marks while Stefan Giro (61) and Bailey Banfield (64) both had 14 disposals.
