VFL

Podcast favourite Finlay ‘Pipes” Macrae (133) had a massive game for the Pies with 34 touches, 9 tackles, 1 goal and 10 clearances, while Trent Bianco (107) continues to build form in the VFL with 36 touches. Jason Horne-Francis (101) proved he’s way too good for VFL level collecting 29 touches and a goal.

There are shades of Will Brode about Charlie Constable (122) who continues to find bulk footy at VFL level. Constable had 32 touches and a goal in the Suns win. James Tsitas (101) was stiff to get dropped after his debut last week and he hit back with a 22 disposal, 9 tackle game.

You’d have to think Jacob Hopper (81) returns to the AFL side next week after his 32 disposal and 13 clearance display. Jake Riccardi (121) was a weapon up forward kicking three goals, while Zac Sproule (91) also kicked three.

After the Bulldogs poor showing on the weekend, it looks like Josh Bruce (89) and Toby McLean (104) will be recalled to the AFL side after dominating the VFL. Bruce had plenty of shots on goal but was wayward, kicking four goals and five behinds, while McLean had 25 touches and a goal. Sam Darcy (84) continued his good vein of form finding 16 touches and a goal.

Around the grounds, Jono Ceglar (116) made his return to footy with a dominant display in the ruck winning 36 hitouts and 20 touches. Hawks number one ruck in waiting, Max Lynch (83) also had a good return from injury with 25 hitouts, 12 touches and a goal. Lachie Fogarty (119) was one of the Blues best with 29 touches and 6 tackles.

SANFL

In another tough game for the Port Magpies, Steve Motlop (114) was a cut above, collecting 32 touches. Xavier Duursma (83) was solid enough with 20 touches, while Scott Lycett (76) made his return to footy with 14 hitouts, 10 touches and a goal.

Big Billy Frampton (116) was a brick wall in defence for the Crows collecting 25 disposals, while Elliott Himmelberg (102) was a threat up forward booting two majors. No surprises to see Kieran Strachan (108) dominate in the middle and Lachie Sholl (95) had 25 touches and a goal.

WAFL

Hard running wingman Patrick Naish (105) was the leading disposal winner for the Eagles with 32 disposals. Xavier O’Neill (100) provided plenty of grunt in the middle with 8 tackles and 25 touches. Alex Witherden (74) had 22 touches from defence while Jai Culley (69) had 16 touches and 7 tackles.

Freo ruckman Lloyd Meek (116) had a monster game in the middle with 51 hitouts and a goal. He gave plenty of great service to midfielders, Connor Blakey (90) and Karl Worner (83) who had 26 and 23 touches respectively. Young gun Heath Chapman (93) was also dangerous with 23 touches and a goal.
