State League Fantasy Scores – Week 3, 2022

Some experienced players put their hands up at the lower level, while some promising youngsters continue to impress! Check out the top scorers in the VFL and SANFL over the weekend.

VFL

Kane Lambert (53) returned from injury in limited minutes picking up 14 touches against the Dogs. Hayden Crozier (89) also found a bit of the footy with 21 touches, while Ivan Soldo (88) kicked1 goal and had 29 hitouts against Stef Martin.

The Swans surely have to pick Logan McDonald (108) after another big showing in the VFL. McDonald also had 16 touches and clunked 11 marks. Teammate Joel Amartey (103) also had a big game kicking 4 goals while Dylan Stephens (87) also had plenty of footy after being dropped finding it 22 times.

Some Cat’s youngsters shone against the Lions on Friday night with Mitch Knevitt (100), Cooper Stephens (90) and Nick Stevens (89) all collecting over 20 touches each, while Ely Smith (94) was one of the Lions best with 27 touches.

Experienced Hawks duo Liam Shiels (109) and Tom Phillips (98) had 27 and 26 touches respectively in their game against Sandringham. Shiels pressure was great, laying 8 tackles, while Phillips kicked a goal from the wing. 

Liam Stocker (116) had the footy on a string as he returns to full fitness, collecting a game high 35 touches. Darcy McPherson (106) and Jeremy Sharp (102) were shining lights for the Suns finding plenty of footy while Mac Andrew (93) and Elijah Hollands (89) also had their best games of the season.

SANFL

After being named in the extended squad for this week’s game against Essendon, Jackson Hately (115) gave himself every chance to get a call up next week after a 35 touch and 1 goal display in the SANFL. His teammate Riley Thilthorpe (107) is surely back in the selection fold as well after another good game kicking 3 goals and picking up 19 touches. Wayne Milera (50) struggled again only finding the footy 17 times.  

Trent Dumont (106) backed up in the SANFL after coming on as the sub in Port’s loss to the Dees on Thursday night. Dumont’s pressure was excellent, laying 12 tackles and collecting 21 touches as well as 6 clearances. Jeremy Finlayson (103) has finally found some touch after a quiet month as he kicked 6 goals in the Magpies narrow loss. Good to see Kane Farrell (72) back playing footy after an ACL injury last year.
