WAFL action returned this weekend and some big names returned from injury, ready to push their case for AFL selection. Check out the top scorers in the VFL, SANFL and WAFL from over the weekend.

VFL

All eyes were on Jed Anderson (81) as he returned for his first game in 2022. He put together a well rounded game collecting 24 touches. Teammate Charlie Comben (86) was dangerous up forward kicking 4 goals and taking 7 marks.

Louis Butler (104) continues to find the ball for the Dogs with 25 touches, backing up games of Fantasy scores of 84 and 121 and Cooper Stephens (96) does the same for the Cats as he collected 19 touches and laid 7 tackles. He’s now had three successive scores in the 90s.

Jarrod Brander (107) kicked four against the Pies while Finn ‘Pipes’ Macrae (106) had 26 touches and a goal

Jeremy Sharp (153) proved that he’s way too good to be playing VFL. He kicked 2 goals and had 40 touches and should be playing AFL next week. Teammate Elijah Hollands (83) put his hand up for selection with 2 goals and 23 touches

Kaine Baldwin (79) kicked 5 goals for the Bombers side, while Harry Jones (61) returned from injury and kicked 1.3. They would both have to be a huge chance to play on ANZAC Day as the Dons desperately need some forwards.

For the Tigers, Jake Aarts (141) had a monster game with 32 touches, 10 tackles and a goal. Kane Lambert (99) kicked 2 goals and had 25 touches in his second game back from injury while Ivan Soldo (108) monstered Tom De Koning (75) in the ruck winning 41 hitouts and kicking 2 goals. Youngsters Rhyan Mansell (112) and Will Martyn (99) had 25 and 24 touches respectively.

SANFL

Riley Thilthorpe (85) kicked a bag of four goals in the SANFL and Jackson Hately (81) once again found plenty of the footy with 26 touches. Kieran Strachan (127) was dominant in the middle winning 40 hitouts, 15 touches and a goal. However there are some concerning signs for Harry Schoenberg (65) who only had 19 touches. Kane Farrell (85) continues to find touch in his return from an ACL injury with 19 disposals and 1 goal.

WAFL

Some big fantasy news out of the WAFL with the return to footy for mature age recruit Greg Clark (90). He had 18 touches and 9 tackles in his first game back from injury, while Xavier O’Neil (96) responded after being dropped with 27 touches. Former Fantasy stud Connor Blakely (125) returned to his old ways with 31 touches.
