State League Fantasy Scores – Week 5, 2022

Some promising scores from exciting youngsters should see a few players in line for an AFL debut this coming week. 

VFL

Ryan Byrnes (122) was massive in the midfield for the Zebras winning 34 touches and 11 clearances. Dean Kent (111) was dangerous up forward with 25 touches and 2 goals while Tom Highmore (109) was solid in defence with 30 touches and 7 marks. In the same game Giants rookie Cooper Hamilton (97) showed some promising signs winning 20 touches. 

Young Blue Jack Carroll (110) had his best game for the year winning 27 touches and kicking 2 goals. Teammates Liam Stocker (104) and Lachie O’Brien (96) were also busy winning 27 and 25 disposals respectively.

Lions’ young bulls Rhys Mathieson (120), Tom Berry (108) and Devon Robertson (98) all found plenty of footy against Port Melbourne. Berry and Robertson had 24 touches each while Mathieson had a game high 34 disposals.

Around the grounds Lachie Bramble (63) had 15 touches in his return from injury, Jake Aarts (113) kicked a goal and had 21 touches while Tyler Sonsie (82) continues to impress with 25 touches and can’t be far off a debut. 

SANFL

Luke Pedlar (107) was one of the best players for the Crows in their win over Centrals collecting 23 touches and 2 goals. Josh Worrell (96) was also very good in defence with 23 disposals, while Harry Schoenberg (78) improved on last week’s effort with 22 touches and goal. 

Xavier Duursma (118) has finally started to find some touch in the SANFL finding 27 touches and a goal on the weekend. Sam Mayes (103) is always a solid contributor at state league level. He had 23 disposals and laid 11 tackles. 

WAFL

A couple Eagles put their hands up for an AFL game next week with Greg Clark (91) leading the way in the midfield with 25 touches and 7 tackles. Josh Rotham (86) was excellent across half back with 20 touches while Sam Pretevski-Seton (91) was also handy, collecting 18 disposals.

Freo young gun Neil Erasmus (147) showed that he is going to be a fantasy star in the future picking up 34 touches and laying 7 tackles while fellow youngster Karl Worner (97) had another good game with 27 touches.
