State League Fantasy Scores – Week 9, 2022

The Crows big man responded in a big way after being dropped, a heap of Suns had a day out and some young Saints are banging down the door for an AFL recall.

VFL

Some monster scores for some Suns in their win over the Bulldogs on Saturday. Jeremy Sharp (138) led the way for the Suns with 33 touches and a goal, while Elijah Hollands (128) had one of his best games for the club, finishing with 2 goals and 27 touches. Sam Flanders (125) and Charlie Constable (121) were also busy, collecting 33 and 35 touches respectively.

The Amartey Party was in full swing at Coburg as Joel Amartey (121) was dominant up forward, kicking four goals. Sam Reid (115) was a little wayward as he kicked 2.5, while Callum Sinclair (98) also bobbed up for two goals. Dylan Stephens (112) was superb, finding 30 touches and a goal. 

Tom Highmore (139) continues to dominate at VFL level with 26 touches and 17 marks across half back. Ryan Byrnes (124) is another young Saint who is in good form, finding 30 touches. Jack Bytel (98) and Jarrod Lienert (91) were also among the good scorers for the Saints. 

SANFL

Being dropped didn’t sit too well with Reilly O’Brien (180). The ruckman was dominant in the Crows SANFL win, collecting 37 touches, 1 goal, 42 hitouts. His teammates found plenty of the the footy, with Matt Crouch (102), Harry Schoenberg (100) and Luke Pedlar (97) all very good in their sides win.

Port traveled to country South Australia and Sam Mayes (117) had another great game winning a game high 33 touches. Xavier Duursma (117) finally found some form with 28 touches and 2 goals while Jackson Mead (115) also had a great game with 28 touches and a goal. Taj Schofield (93) had his best game of his young career with 31 touches and Charlie Dixon (87) kicked 3 goals up forward.  

WAFL

Darcy Tucker (115) responded to being dropped from the Dockers side, winning a team high 28 touches. Mitch Crowden (115) brought the heat with 25 touches and 9 tackles while Liam Henry (82) was solid out on the wing with 18 touches and a goal. 

Zane Trew (80) was one of only two AFL listed Eagles to play in the WAFL. He picked up 22 touches in his side’s loss.
