CBAs Analysis: Round 21, 2025- AFL Fantasy

See who the winners and losers were in the CBAs over the weekend.

In AFL Fantasy, Centre Bounce Attendances (CBAs) are one of the most valuable indicators of a player’s role and scoring potential. Each week, changes in CBAs can signal role shifts, coaching adjustments, or evolving team strategies—all of which are crucial for fantasy coaches looking to stay ahead of the game. Each week, I’ll be selecting five key players whose midfield involvement is worth highlighting. For a more detailed breakdown of all the biggest movers, members can access our CBA analysis data tools here.

Cooper Lord

With Adam Cerra missing due to a knee injury, Cooper Lord stepped up and attended 71% of CBAs—up from just 12% the previous round. He looked right at home in the middle, showing poise and racking up 87 Fantasy points. While this role was likely a temporary fix, with both Cerra (and also Sam Walsh) expected to return this week, it’s promising to see Lord trusted with such responsibility. One to stash in keeper leagues as a future midfielder.

Bailey J. Williams

Matt Flynn was omitted, handing Bailey J. Williams a solo ruck gig. But matched up against Max Gawn, Williams was soundly beaten and struggled to impact the game, finishing with just 43 points in a heavy Eagles loss. This result may swing the door back open for Flynn to return in Round 22, and potentially re-audition for the No.1 ruck role in 2026.

Elijah Hewett

Elijah Hewett’s midfield role expanded this week as he attended 79% of the CBAs for the Eagles. West Coast trimmed Brady Hough’s centre bounce time and moved away from pinch hitters like Liam Ryan, instead handing more opportunity to the third-year talent. Hewett demonstrated why many consider him a future mainstay in the engine room. Crucially, he’s still listed as a forward in AFL Fantasy and could retain that status into next year, making him one to watch in drafts.

Jade Gresham

Gresham was thrust into the Bombers’ midfield mix this week with 45% attendance. It looked to come largely at the expense of Sam Durham, who pushed forward more often. With Essendon’s season done and dusted and a long injury list, they appear to be trialling different combinations. Whether it sticks is anyone’s guess, but the role is certainly worth monitoring over the final few rounds of the season.

Caleb Windsor

Windsor’s inside midfield credentials took a leap this week as he attended 73% of centre bounces – his highest number this season. The Demons used the clash against West Coast to give their young wingman some midfield reps, and he held his spot all day. He didn’t set the world alight with 68 points, but the intent from Melbourne to develop him into an inside midfielder is clear. That’s a factor that could pay dividends long term in keeper leagues.
