Round 11, 2024: Captains and Streamers – AFL Fantasy

Each week, we rely on our AFL Fantasy Projections (available to members of The Keeper League) to identify some of the best captain options for your team.

While there are always some obvious captain options, we try to dig a little deeper to find less popular options due to the widespread nature of players in keeper leagues. However, if you have Uber premium players, please don’t take this article as advice not to put the captaincy on them.

In addition to the top captain options, we’ll also look at some streamer options who may not be automatic selections in your side but have a history of performing well against their opponents. These options are worth considering if you’re looking for a differential advantage in your matchup.

Captains

Tom Green has had his average skewed by an injury-affected game, so I am taking the opportunity to get him in this article! Green scored 108 AFL Fantasy Points against Geelong last time they met and will smash the old men this week.

Touk Miller makes the cut again this week coming off a 108 AFL Fantasy Point game and coming up against Carolton whom he has averaged 113 AFL Fantasy Points against in recent years.

I am backing Matt Crouch to have his way with the West Coast Eagles this week. “There’s no place like home” and Crouch has averaged 108 AFL Fantasy Points from his last three games at Adelaide Oval.

Jarrod Witts should benefit from the injury to Marc Pittonet in this week’s match-up against Carlton. Witts is averaging 94 AFL Fantasy Points and should easily account for Tom De Konig in the hitouts.

The Hawks give up two things at the moment: unassailable leads and AFL Fantasy Points. This is why I am putting the Captaincy on Lachie Neale this week; he scored 124 AFL Fantasy Points last time they met.

Vice-Captain

Brodie Grundy makes the cut again this week, simply because he will win the hitouts against Tim English who are a high stoppage team. Grundy has averaged 110 from his last three against the Western Bulldogs.

Jack Crisp is averaging 118 AFL Fantasy Points from his last three games and 102 from his last three against Fremantle.

Marcus Bontempelli loves playing against the Sydney Swans with 142 AFL Fantasy Points the last time these two teams met and going at 112 from his last three against them.

The role change for Hayden Young this season has solidified his scoring potential. Youn is averaging 105 AFL Fantasy Points from his last three games and scored 98 the last time he played Collingwood.

Andrew Brayshaw has unfortunately seen a role change this season which has brought his scoring down. I’m backing him in this week having averaged 116 AFL Fantasy Points from his last three against Collingwood.

Streamers

Mark Blicavs has had a shocking season to date; however, he has a great record on GWS averaging 90 AFL Fantasy Points from his last three against them.

Massive watch on teams this week but if Sam Durham is named this week against Richmond, then you start this kid!

Fresh off a 100 AFL Fantasy Point game Jase Burgoyne has a good match up against North Melbourne this week.

Darcy Wilmot had a bit of a slow start to the season which didn’t match the hype; but he just notched up 96 AFL Fantasy Points and this week has the dream Hawks points fest to look forward to.

I might have gone a week early, but with Charlie Dixon being rested I am going back to the Jeremy Finlayson well this week. Finlayson scored 97 AFL Fantasy Points the last time he played North.
