Round 14, 2024: Captains and Streamers – AFL Fantasy

Each week, we rely on our AFL Fantasy Projections (available to members of The Keeper League) to identify some of the best captain options for your team.

While there are always some obvious captain options, we try to dig a little deeper to find less popular options due to the widespread nature of players in keeper leagues. However, if you have Uber premium players, please don’t take this article as advice not to put the captaincy on them.

In addition to the top captain options, we’ll also look at some streamer options who may not be automatic selections in your side but have a history of performing well against their opponents. These options are worth considering if you’re looking for a differential advantage in your matchup.

Captains

Toby Nankervis has averaged 120 AFL Fantasy Points from his last three games and will face an underdone Hawthorn Ruck.

Will Day is edging toward premium status with an average score of 101 AFL Fantasy Points from his last three and a very tasty Richmond match up this week.

Coming back from an injury lay-off Tim Taranto did not miss a beat. He’s averaging 113 AFL Fantasy Points from his last three games.

Josh Daicos is fresh off a 130 AFL Fantasy Point game against and comes up against North Melbourne this weekend.

This guy burnt a few coaches early in the season, but Luke Davies-Uniacke scored 145 AFL Fantasy Points against Collingwood last season and is averaging 100 from his last five.

Vice-Captain

Tim English has averaged 111 AFL Fantasy Points from his last three against Fremantle and will work the heavy-set Sean Darcy over on Friday night.

Jordon Clark is coming off a 151 AFL Fantasy Point game and scored 93 against the Western Bulldogs last time these teams met.

Hugh McCluggage is the kind of inside, outside mid that should dominate against St Kilda this week. He is also likely to avoid the Windhager tag which will go to Neale.

Andrew Brayshaw is a big game player and Fremantle have a top 4 spot on the line this weekend. Brayshaw is averaging 104 AFL Fantasy Points from his last five games.

Streamers

Darcy Moore comes up against North Melbourne this week; a team he has averaged 79 AFL Fantasy Points against from his last three meets.

Another intercept mark option I have my eye on this week is Harris Andrews. St Kilda give up a mountain of uncontested ball and Andrews will feast.

Connor McKenna was subbed out of last week’s game but is not on the injury list for Brisbane. If he plays, he is another Brisbane defender that will rack up possessions.

He has had an up-and-down season, but I’d be playing Jack Scrimshaw against an injury-depleted Richmond. He has the mark, kick style of game that should see him score well this week.

Lachie Schultz has averaged 80 AFL Fantasy Points from his last three games against North Melbourne, making him a great forward streamer this week.
