Round 14: Captains and Streamers – AFL Fantasy

Each week, we rely on our AFL Fantasy Projections (available to members of The Keeper League) to identify some of the best captain options for your team.

While there are always some obvious captain options, we try to dig a little deeper to find less popular options due to the widespread nature of players in keeper leagues. However, if you have Uber premium players, please don’t take this article as advice not to put the captaincy on them.

In addition to the top captain options, we’ll also look at some streamer options who may not be automatic selections in your side but have a history of performing well against their opponents. These options are worth considering if you’re looking for a differential advantage in your matchup.

Captains

Noah Anderson has averaged 115 AFL Fantasy points from his last three games against Carlton, who is a team absolutely on the ropes at the moment.

This guy can make or break your weekend, I’m talking about Adam Treloar. Treloar is coming off back-to-back 110+ AFL fantasy point games and he scored 109 against North Melbourne when they last met.

Brad Crouch is coming off a 114 AFL Fantasy point game on the weekend and he notched up 128 against the Tigers when they last met.

I am really hoping that Bailey Smith can return to an Uber premium score this week against North Melbourne. Smith had a whopping 147 AFL Fantasy points on North Melbourne recently and he is too good not to hit those ceilings.

Coaches might be put off by Stephen Coniglio’s recent history against Fremantle, only averaging 77 AFL Fantasy points against them in recent years. However, the real Coniglio is back and averaging 100 AFL Fantasy points this season.

Vice-Captain

After having the week off, I am backing Luke Parker to return to breathing fire. Parker has averaged 113 AFL Fantasy Points from his last three against the Brisbane Lions.

Tom Stewart had 115 AFL Fantasy Points in Round 12 and will be fresh and ready to go after Geelong’s bye.

Well, the Port boys of Connor Rozee and Zak Butters are close to “too good for article” but until they are, this writer is going to tell coaches to lock them in!

Jeremy Cameron is a key forward who is capable of kicking bags of goals, which is why I like him as a Thursday Captain loop option this week.

I really love watching Chad Warner play and he is averaging 106 AFL Fantasy points from his last three games. Warner scored 104 when he last played Geelong and with the early game, he is a great option.

Streamers

Max King had 93 AFL Fantasy points against Richmond the last time they played and has been in great goal-kicking form since returning from injury.

A stream option favourite of mine Nathan Broad had 103 AFL Fantasy points on St Kilda previously and has had a reliable average of 79 from his last three games.

Cody Weightman is a man that relies on tackles and goals to get his points, thankfully this week he plays North Melbourne whom he’s averaged 80 AFL Fantasy points in recent times.

Another small forward option this week is Lachie Schultz who has averaged 87 AFL Fantasy points from his last three against Greater Western Sydney.

Tom Hawkins has been well down on form this season, but the Thursday night game has me interested in him as a loop option. Hawkins had 82 AFL Fantasy points against Port when they last met.
