Round 16: Captains and Streamers – AFL Fantasy

Each week, we rely on our AFL Fantasy Projections (available to members of The Keeper League) to identify some of the best captain options for your team.

While there are always some obvious captain options, we try to dig a little deeper to find less popular options due to the widespread nature of players in keeper leagues. However, if you have Uber premium players, please don’t take this article as advice not to put the captaincy on them.

In addition to the top captain options, we’ll also look at some streamer options who may not be automatic selections in your side but have a history of performing well against their opponents. These options are worth considering if you’re looking for a differential advantage in your matchup.

Captains

Brad Crouch is averaging 116 AFL Fantasy points from his last five games and pumped out 147 AFL Fantasy points against the West Coast Eagles when they last met at Optus Stadium.

Luke Ryan has averaged an eye-watering 123 AFL Fantasy Points from his last three games against the Western Bulldogs. He also pumped out 156 in his last game at Marvel Stadium.

Coming off the bye I am expecting Adam Treloar to continue his rich vein of form (barring injury). Treloar is averaging 118 AFL Fantasy points from his last three games.

Noah Anderson is quietly putting together a very consistent season, with 8 scores over 100 AFL Fantasy Points this season. Anderson scored 116 on Collingwood the last time these two teams met.

The wonder boy Connor Rozee has averaged 111 AFL Fantasy Points from his last five games and 108 from his last three against Essendon.

Vice-Captain

A Thursday night game gives owners an amazing free look at Lachie Neale as a VC loophole option. Neale had 107 AFL Fantasy points against Richmon in their last encounter.

Toby Nankervis monstered Brisbane the last time they met, pumping out 123 AFL Fantasy points. He has had the wood on Oscar and is a smoky this Thursday.

This could be the last time that Errol Gulden is eligible for this article. He is averaging 112 AFL Fantasy points from his last three games and is an elite fantasy option.

Mark Blicavs is averaging 93 AFL Fantasy points from his last three games, and he scored 111 against Tom Hickey last time they matched up.

This feels like a week of ‘smokey’s and Ben Keays is not one for the faint-hearted; however, he has seen a bump in his CBA’s and is currently averaging 104 AFL Fantasy points from his last three games.

Streamers

Seb Ross is coming off a rest and has averaged 86 AFL Fantasy Points from his last three games against the West Coast Eagles.

It looks like Jake Petrucelle has had a shift in his role in recent weeks, coming off 80 AFL Fantasy points against Sydney last week.

Harry McKay doesn’t have a great record against Hawthorn, but the way the Hawks defence is travelling that could change this week.

Thursday night game against a fantasy friendly Richmond has me looking at Keidean Coleman this week. Coleman had 78 against Richmond last time they met and has become the Lions main ball user in defence.

Todd Marshall is coming off a 100 AFL Fantasy point game last week, going at 90 from his last three. In addition, Todd has averaged 75 from his last three games against Essendon.
