State League Fantasy Scores – Week 22, 2022

  • Avatar photo

SANFL, WAFL and VFL fantasy scores are a must-have resource during the fantasy season, whether you’re into AFL Fantasy classic, draft, or keeper leagues.

AFL-listed players that dominate the reserves competitions generally are the first in line to fill a need at the elite level, should a player get injured or fall out of form.

The closer we monitor these performances, the faster we can get on the waiver wire and snap them up!

Below are the top scorers of the week that you should be paying attention to…

VFL

The Dogs smashed the Giants in the final game of the year and have some players in form at VFL level heading into finals. Josh Schache (150) booted 7 goals, while Anthony Scott (139) kicked 4 goals and had 25 touches. The forgotten Toby McLean (104) also had a game high 34 touches.

Mitch Robinson (176) had a point to prove after only coming on late as the sub on Friday night, picking up 42 disposals and 10 clearances in the VFL. Teammate Deven Robertson (138) was impressive with 30 touches and 3 goals, while the unlucky James Jordan (123) picked up 27 disposals after his axing.

Jack Bowes (147) finished off a frustrating year having a day out against the Roos with 1 goal, 31 touches, 11 tackles and 10 clearances. His teammates also found plenty of footy with Jeremy Sharp (124) collecting 34 touches and Oleg Markov (114) with 31 disposals. Interesting way to end the season for Aaron Hall (132) in the VFL but he had 37 touches and a goal, while Tarryn Thomas (109) kicked 3 goals and had 22 touches.

A couple Pies put their hand up for September action with Trey Ruscoe (135) and Callum Brown (117) both having over 30 disposals in the loss to Carlton. Caleb Poulter (116) and Josh Carmichael (105) were the other two youngsters to impress on Sunday. Wil Hayes (106) continued his good season at VFL level, while The Trudge (90) finished the season off with 23 touches.

Around the grounds, Swans young gun Matt Roberts (127) finished the season off strongly with 37 touches, rumoured future Roo Liam Shiels (124) wound back the clock with 31 touches and young Tiger Sam Banks (108) had his best game of the season with 26 disposals. Jack Bytel (139) pushed his case for more footy next year with a 28 disposal, 13 tackle, 2 goal game. Oli Dempsey (130) showed he’s one to keep an eye on next year picking up 29 touches for the Cats in their win over Port Melbourne.

SANFL

Port were successful in the SANFL Showdown, upsetting the more fancied Crows. For the Crows, Billy Frampton (145) was a rock down back with 32 touches and 14 marks, while Matt Crouch (140) had a match high 41 disposals. Kieran Strachan (109) was in complete control in the ruck and also kicked a goal and Lachie Sholl (106) played likely his last game in Crows colours and picked up 30 touches.

For the Power, youngster Dylan Williams (107) had his best game for the year with 26 touches and a goal while ‘sons of guns’ Jackson Mead (85) and Taj Schofield (84) had 26 and 19 touches respectively. Keeper League favourite Trent Dumont (80) had a team high 27 disposals.

WAFL

Karl Worner (85) was the leading disposal winner for Peel alongside Liam Henry (124) who showed his class on the wing, also kicking a goal. Young gun Neil Erasmus (107) was busy with 23 touches and 3 goals and looks set for a big 2023.

Patrick Naish (149) was on fire for the Eagles collecting 37 disposals in another loss for the side. Zane Trew (68) was the only other AFL listed Eagle of note who had 15 touches and a goal.
